I have a butt. You have butt. We all have butts. I'm not understanding why we have to sing about them?!?! First media is all about the super skinny model and how that's hot. Now it is "all about that bass" and big butts. We have Nicki Minaj, J-Lo, Iggy, and all the others that are singing about their larger than life back sides and "f**k the skinny b*tch*s" in the Anaconda song. Well first off Nicki Minaj, and no offense intended because I jam to a lot of her songs, but didn't you BUY your butt? It isn't like its God given. All of us could have the same back side if we went and spent tons of money.
So first we were damned if we weren't a twig, now we are damned if we don't have a gigantic butt. Well I'm neither and never will be so where does that leave me?
It leaves me as me!! I work with what I was given and then naturally work to improve it and BE HEALTHY. There is always talk about how women tear each other down and the media promotes unattainable body images with the "skinniness" but I'm sorry, these other worldly booties can't be obtained either unless you go under the knife or gain weight <--- which isn't healthy either.
How about we just STOP talking about body image unless it is promoting healthy eating and living! This image is not one size, shape, color, or height. It may be someone who is lean and sculpted or someone who is pretty buff. Or it may be someone who is a bit on the heavier side but could outrun everyone in a marathon!
All the men and women in the world are NOT looking for the exact same body type. People, both men and women, are attracted to a variety of body types so we shouldn't try and stick ourselves in the exact same category no matter what media, artists, or your co-workers say!
I know its easier said that done and its such cliche' to say but we do need to just embrace one another's shape, size, and form and be encouraging to just live healthy and actively.
So keep your twig figure along with your larger than life purchased back side because I will keep my figure just the way it was given to me while enjoying a happy healthy life :)
Cheers and LIVE LOVE HAPPINESS*
