What I have never understood was the fact that doctors offices ( of any sort) take the time to interview and hire receptionists to be trained on scheduling appointments with their patients? I mean it seems like such a waste of money. Or honestly, if it is not.... Well then these receptionists need to be re-educated on what an appointment means! I mean if you schedule an appointment for me at 8:20am and then always want me there 15 minutes earlier, why do I then get called back to be seen (where I have to wait another 10-15 minutes) when it has been an hour or so AFTER my scheduled appointment time!?!? Do they like having their waiting room filled with annoyed disgruntled anxious patients? Do they not think that we have lives and other tasks that we have to get done that same day? There was a time when Nate waited TWO HOURS at our dentists office to THEN be told he had to be rescheduled!?! | Are they freaking kidding me!?!? Why is it that no matter what doctor I see, whether gyno, dentist, PCP, specialist, I AM ALWAYS being seen WAY past my APPOINTMENT time? It just doesn't make sense. Schedule me when you can actually take me back-- or if you want to leave a little buffer room for those who are late, 10 minutes of waiting is fine. Call me crazy but it is just asinine that people have to wait more than 15-20 minutes to be seen when they MADE AN APPOINTMENT! Cheers and Waffles* |
