Here is my moment of truth with all of you. I quit the cleanse..... and I have my reasons which I will gladly share but let us first take a moment and realize that I am being honest with you all. I am not lying about continuing the cleanse and writing fake results. I am being real and showing that sometimes it is OK to quit and move on.
Here are my reasons for starting: 1) to lose weight 2) to detox my body of all the crap I invested during our journey here and 3) to see if it improved upon my skin.
I wrote the reasons in order of importance for my decision to begin the journey.
Therefore my decision to quit this journey is also the #1 reason. This cleanse boasted you could lose 10-15lbs in 10 days. At the very beginning of my postings I did talk about how I wanted to see how much someone who ONLY NEEDED to lose that amount of weight would actually end up losing, so I knew before hand that I probably would NOT be one of those statistics.
But on my 6th morning I woke up and did my routine like every other morning since day 1 and went back to 132lbs. I had lost the 0.4lbs I gained from the day before. At the halfway mark of this journey I only lost 2.4lbs. Now lets say that I lost the same amount my next five days. That would not even get me at the 5lb mark!! Just ridiculous.
For basically starving myself of chewing food for almost two weeks and to only lose 4.8lbs-- no thank you! I can do that just the same by eating clean and going to the gym.
For someone whose main goal is to lose weight, I do not recommend this cleanse if you ONLY have 10-15lbs to lose. It is just harder to lose your last bit of weight than it is for someone who has more to lose. Do not get me wrong, losing weight really is not EASY for anyone, but the weight goes quicker at first when you have more to lose than it does when you get down to the last little bit. I feel that after being on the smoothie FB support site, it is generally an amazing plan to use when you are significantly over weight. Many of the women AND men who were on the site were showing weights of 200-300lbs. There were some who were in the high 100's. And as you all know, I'm in the low to mid 100's and for my height and age, I really only need to get down to 120 <--- if that, so I'm not far away.
IF you are someone who wants to do a cleanse for pure detox reasons, I again highly suggest this plan. I do feel that even though I only went half way through, that I cleaned out my system for the most part and curved my appetites. I do see a difference in my skin as well.
So all in all, I am a quitter <----- for THIS program. It just was not fitting my needs for my body. However, I am never going to quit trying to live the healthiest life style I can, even when I have hiccups or my bad days, weeks, or months! It is never too late to be healthy*
I am going to go back to CHEWING healthier foods and making sure that I intake a good amount of protein, healthy fats, greens, and my H20. I will also continue with working out at the gym 3-4 days a week or more. I did it before this way and I can do it again :)

I thank you all for tuning in on this journey with me and hope that I have either inspired you to try the cleanse to see how it works for you, stop something that you just do not FEEL is working for YOU and work towards something else that does, or just inspired that your aren't the only one who has set backs or has tried something new and failed/quit for what ever reason! We are all human and have to do what is BEST for ourselves and our bodies. Cheers and Honesty* |
