What I really liked about this book (which led me to purchase it) was the fact that JJ gives you an exact grocery list and exact recipes for the smoothies for EACH of the 10 days. So it was not like I was going at this like a guessing game. Many smoothie plans I have seen basically tell you what types of greens and fruits to use but does not have it all measured and calculated out for you to obtain the best results. Her book also gives you help and guidance AFTER you finish the 10-day cleanse which I also found to be a step up from others.
Yesterday was my first day with JJ Smith's Green Smoothie cleanse. You start your day off with a bottle of water and a detox tea. Then for breakfast, lunch, and dinner you eat about 16-18 ounces of the green smoothie. Through out the day if you feel hungry you can snack on hard boiled eggs, crunch veggies such as celery and carrots, and then can also have a handful of nuts and peanut butter.
Waking up in the morning, I first took my measurements. This is an important step so you can see your progress in numbers. But remember to always take measurements with a tape measure rather than JUST your scale weight. Especially if you are working out!! After taking my measurements, I picked out an outfit I set aside for the 10-day duration and took some pics. Front, Side, and Back.
Day 1:
Weight- 134.4lbs
Thighs- 23inches
Hips- 39inches
Waist- 27.5
Biceps- 11
Do not mind my messy office as I plan on getting that organized today. Now as you can see I am not severely over weight. Some might even wonder why I am doing this cleanse because I do not NEED to lose weight. Everyone has their own view of themselves and I have my own as well. I know the healthy limits that I need to be for my age and height and I am just trying to get back to where I was. I am not that far away and just losing the pudginess around my waist will make a significant difference and then I want to tone it all up, which is why I am also working out at the gym 3-4 days a week. I do not want to be THIN.... I want to be FIT.

After documenting, I drank a 16.9oz bottle of water and then made my detox tea. I was really looking forward to the tea! But to my dismay, it is HORRIBLE! It has some sort of spice to it that I just cannot get passed. Downing it like my life depended on it, I felt as though I might throw it back up! But the point is, I got it down.
After that wretched experience, I went to the kitchen to make my smoothie. I had pre-packaged everything last night so basically just had to dump it all in!
Besides my 3 smoothies I also had 2 hard boiled eggs, some celery with all natural PB, and one small handful of peanuts. I also drank 109oz of water by the time I went to bed.
I was surprised at how satisfied I felt the entire day. Never was I FULL but nor was I HUNGRY either. When I went to bed I felt good even after doing an entire leg workout at the gym. <--- this is why I opted to use the protein powder in the smoothies which is optional.
Drinking that amount of water is good in so many different ways as it helps curve your hunger, helps rid your body of toxins and fats, and most of all keeps you hydrated and healthy! But it sure does make you use the restroom a WHOLE LOT MORE!!!
The water + the smoothie is also supposed to do wonders for your skin and eyes so each day I am ALSO taking a close up selfie of me o'natural to view any changes there.

A couple things I am taking away from my first day are:
1) I REALLY need to find a different DETOX tea because it is not something I can skip.
2) Since I am not working right now, I really do not need to waste my time the night before pre-packaging my smoothies. I, thankfully, have the time in the am to prepare it all then and there.
3) Besides missing chewing meat, I think I got this!!
Tune in tomorrow to review today's results and thoughts :)
